Ingredients
Mint Limeade
- 5 to 6 medium limes
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 cup granulated sugar or date syrup
- 6 fresh mint leaves
- 2 cups crushed ice cubes
Instructions
-
Prepare ingredients
Gather 5 to 6 medium limes, 3 cups whole milk, 1 cup cold water, 1 cup granulated sugar or date syrup, 6 fresh mint leaves, and 2 cups crushed ice cubes.
-
Blend the limeade base
Add the 5 to 6 medium limes, 3 cups whole milk, 1 cup cold water, 1 cup granulated sugar or date syrup, and 6 fresh mint leaves to a high-powered blender such as a Vitamix. Blend on high until the 5 to 6 medium limes, 3 cups whole milk, 1 cup cold water, 1 cup sugar or date syrup, and 6 mint leaves are completely smooth and well combined.
Blending whole limes creates a strong lime flavor—adjust the number of limes if you prefer a milder taste.
-
Strain the mixture
Pour the blended lime and mint mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher, pressing gently with a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible while leaving behind the lime pulp and solids from the 5 to 6 limes and 6 mint leaves.
-
Serve over ice
Fill glasses with the 2 cups crushed ice cubes (divided among the servings), then pour the strained mint limeade over the crushed ice cubes in each glass.
-
Enjoy immediately
Serve the mint limeade right away for the best flavor and texture. Stir before drinking to make sure the blended 3 cups whole milk, 1 cup cold water, and 1 cup sugar or date syrup are evenly distributed.
Notes
- This drink tastes best when served immediately—freshly blended limes can become bitter if left too long.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less of the 1 cup sugar or date syrup.
- For a lighter version, replace some of the 3 cups whole milk with extra cold water.
- Peeling the limes before blending will produce a smoother, less bitter drink while still capturing plenty of lime flavor.
