Servings: 4 servings
Total Time: 35 min

Ingredients

Gourmet Chicken Stuffing Skillet
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
  • 1 box (6 oz) chicken-flavor stuffing mix
  • 1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat **1 tablespoon butter** in a large skillet over medium heat. Add **4 boneless chicken breast halves** and cook for **12–15 minutes**, turning once, until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the center. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Prepare the **6 oz chicken-flavor stuffing mix** directly in the same skillet according to the package directions, using the skillet drippings for extra flavor. After adding the liquid per package instructions, cover and let the stuffing stand for **2 minutes**.
  3. Place the cooked chicken breasts on top of the prepared stuffing in the skillet.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together **1 can cream of mushroom soup (10 3/4 oz)** and **1/2 cup milk**. Pour the creamy mixture evenly over the chicken breasts.
  5. Sprinkle the chicken with **1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese**. Cover the skillet and cook on low heat until the cheese is melted and the sauce is heated through, about **5 minutes**.
  6. Serve hot, scooping chicken, stuffing, and creamy sauce together.

Notes

  • This is a great recipe for using leftover holiday stuffing—just skip the boxed mix and warm your leftovers in the skillet before adding the chicken.
  • You can substitute cream of chicken soup for a milder flavor or cream of celery for extra savory notes.
  • Try adding sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or peas for more vegetables.
  • For even quicker prep, pound the chicken breasts slightly so they cook evenly and faster.
